Community Regeneration
Valleys to Coast is about more than just housing. It aims to provide sustainable communities – places that people want to be.
We play our part in social and economic renewal with:
- Community Support Fund – investing in neighbourhood groups and activities with small grants
- Estates Improvement Programme – improving the physical environment on our main estates
- Neighbourhood Improvement Fund – working with local tenants and residents to make real changes on the ground
- Training opportunities for local people and upgrades to community facilities – getting extra benefits from our home improvement contracts
- Community ‘assets’ – using our land and buildings to create community service hubs, multi-use games areas, gardens and walking/cycling routes
- Supporting the development of community groups, tenant & resident associations, sports clubs or the creation of community Development Trusts
V2C works with a range of partners to maximise opportunities for the development and regeneration, such as:
- Keep Wales Tidy – with a dedicated officer working on V2C communities
- Communities First & Flying Start – providing premises for the programme
- Caerau Skills Centre – supporting set-up and operation as well as taking on trainees
