You can pay your rent into the post office by cheque or cash using your rent payment card.

Post

If you send your rent by post, you can send a cheque or postal order made payable to ‘Valleys to Coast Housing Ltd’. You will need to write your rent account number on the back of the cheque or postal order. Send payments to:

You should keep all your rent receipts. They are your personal record of each payment

You can get more information about all these methods of payment from our customer service centre.

How do you work out my rent?

We work out your rent by taking account of the size and type of the property.

Annual rent increases

If you have been a tenant since before 12th September 2003 Annual rent increases will be in line with the rent guarantee as outlined in your offer document, Your Home, Your Future, Your Choice.

All tenants with protected assured tenancies were given a five-year rent guarantee from the date of transfer. Your annual rent will not increase by more than the rate of inflation plus 1% each year. Although we are not able to provide a rent guarantee after year 5, in years 6 to 10 average rent increases will be strictly limited to no more than the rate of inflation plus 2% every year.

If you take up a tenancy after 12th September 2003 (that is, you have an assured or starter tenancy), average rents will rise within the Welsh Assembly Government rent guidelines for Registered Social Landlords. For more details, please contact our customer service centre.
