Stock Transfer Organisations – investing in Housing’s future talent.
Fifty additional housing students (an increase of 150%!) were given the opportunity to attend the Tai 08 Conference, this year courtesy of Valleys to Coast (V2C) and RCT Homes.
Linda Whittaker, Director of Housing at the Welsh Assembly Government and Peter Cahill, Chief Executive of V2C welcomed students to the event at student registration.
Peter Cahill said “V2C and RCT Homes realise the importance of investing in the housing talent of tomorrow and we're delighted to sponsor their attendance at the event”
Steve Long, Director of CIH, said “It’s easy to overlook the importance of students but they are the future of the housing community, as current and future employees of the sector. As a result of being able to offer additional conference spaces to students this year, two have joined the CIH Board of the National Business Unit.”
Tom Broadhead who has recently completed his studies said ‘As a student the Tai conference is an invaluable introduction to some of the key issues facing housing professionals today. The conference is well organised and professionally managed, providing students with an opportunity to meet with current policy makers. The presentations on sustainability demonstrate how much is being done by the housing sector in combating climate change and how much more needs to be done to ensure a sustainable future for housing in this country.’
